Prague, full day

The plan

• Morning — Prague Castle complex (St. Vitus Cathedral, Old Royal Palace, Golden Lane). It's a hill — tram #22 drops you near the top if you'd rather skip the climb. Changing of the Guard at the main gate happens hourly; the larger ceremony is at noon.
• Afternoon — Charles Bridge in daylight, Lesser Town, the John Lennon Wall.
• Evening — Dinner in Old Town Square. The square at night, with the Astronomical Clock and the spires lit up, is unforgettable.

Pace notes

• Prague is hilly and cobbled — comfortable shoes essential. Consider taxis or trams between major stops rather than walking everything.
• Currency is the Czech Koruna (CZK) — not the Euro. Many places accept cards, but cash is handy for cafés and small shops.
