Closed Mondays and Tuesdays — and for the entire month of August, when the family takes their holiday. Three generations have run it without changing the rules.
There's no debate among Parisians: Berthillon is the ice cream. The salon itself has a small queue, but every café on the Île Saint-Louis sells the same scoops with shorter lines — just look for the "glaces Berthillon" sign. Try the fraise des bois sorbet or marrons glacés. Closes for most of August; we're visiting just before, so we're fine.
